No pork butts at Costco. How about for you?

Went to Costco yesterday for pork butts. None to be had. Just an empty refrigerator case. Guess I'll have to resort to the supermarket. Anyone else experiencing pork butt shortages at Costco?

Restaurant Depot had plenty, Chris....though you run the risk of blowing the Christmas budget on meat if you go there!

I have studiously avoided CostCo since Hoarding v2.0 started.... :)

No shortage here.
A few months back I went there for a brisket and they had none, I was quite miffed.
Brisket and pineapples are the main things I buy there. They have big fresh pineapples usually and they have a better brisket selection obviously than anybody else. Except that day.

Maybe Chris' Costco is on the leading edge of another round of Covid driven shortages, hoarding and supply chain disruption? Made worse by higher demand for meat around the holidays?

Out by me. Disappointed. Out starting last week. Costco has been a pillar for us, until this year. With no pickup available, and limited and much pricier selection if you order delivery, they have "failed" us.

Went to Sams this morning, they had plenty of pork butt , priced at $1.30 a pound. And they looked a lot better than those I bought from US Chef store recently.

And on side note, I got halfway through my shopping and realized I'd forgotten to put my mask on. I'd left it in the truck. I'm so absent minded any more , and Mrs Dollar was not with me to remind me.

Tis the season, for buying meat that is. Barb had a guy come through her line at Safeway with a cart full of just meat last week...$565 worth. No hording going on here. She noted that there has been a big uptick of meat sales at the store.

Had plenty here the other day, even had pork bellies which is sporadic here, but $2.99.
butts and loins still 1.69,

There were plenty of briskets and pineapples! :)

In our Costco, they have no frozen pineapple. Last year, they didn’t have frozen strawberries for awhile and this year, frozen pineapple. We drink a lot of smoothies. Sorry, didn’t notice ant pork butts as I’m still good in my freezer. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out now though. I’m not a hoarder, but I’m not above an opportunistic grab when signs are pointing to a shortage. Thankfully, we stayed up on TP and paper towel. Not much of that around at our Costco.

I didn’t see any shortage but, the local source kicked cost to the curb selling at $0.99/lb. for a second week. I’d like to get more but, there is a fly in the ointment.
A wonderful family owned bakery has just announced that they will lock the doors at close of business on 12/24/2020.
This is a bakery which is one of two truly local artisanal (well, as much as a commercial place can be) bakeries which I try to frequent as often as I can. This means I will need to clear space in the freezer for their amazing “Struan” bread to keep my grandson in the right toast for his poached eggs! I’m not sure just how well I will be able to do that but, I will do my best.
The owners have been looking for a buyer for almost five years to no avail. I’m just too old and under financed to save this place.
This will be a loss to this community but, not totally based on a COVID problem but, that didn’t help to be sure. I’m placing an order for half a dozen loaves! So, I might need to smoke a couple of butts to make room!

pick n save in the Milwaukee area have them also (Smithfield) for 88¢ lb...
the only butts i've seen at costco have been boneless (blahful)
