I've heard about them. And always wanted one. Thought I'd give it a try.
Basic recipe here: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/f...with-bacon-pico-de-gallo-and-avocado-56389617

These bad boys were on sale:

Wrapped each one with 2 slices of bacon & put them into the Performer. When they were almost cooked, warmed some fried beans & added some buttered bolillo rolls.

Off the grill & ready for assembly.

Started with a layer of the beans.

Then the dogs.

Then some pico de gallo, pickled jalapenos & avocado.

Topped with a lime, cilantro & mayo mix. Time to eat!

Robert - that is one kicked up hotdog! Love the creative flavor profile you created there. I bet those were pretty good...

but.... Robert, i'da added some cheese... shredded sharp cheddar woulda been ideal on top of the beans....

Those are a staple in southern Arizona. Not available at many places in the Phoenix area, but they are REALLY good at the ones that do have them.

I love the irony of wrapping Hebrew Nationals with bacon. I'm sort of a "plain dog" kind of guy, but I'd definitely try one of those.

Robert, WOW!!! Those dogs are awesome and yes I'd take one. Will have to give that one a try for sure.
