Funny how things come to be.
There is a young couple two doors down from us that have two sweet Labs. We go out to the fields together and let the pups run, they get along great.
We’ve become friends with them and because they’re both in the medical field they put in some long days.
They used to leave the doggie door unlocked so they could go out if needed, but one of them is a barker and some neighbors complained. Now Barb and I take Whitney down to their house and let the pups out for an hour or so almost every day.
Well we were talking to Lauren one day while letting the pups run about our frustration trying to find a rescue as a buddy for Whitney. We’ve searched for a year and noting really got our attention.
Lauren said that her mom raises labs back in Ohio and she had a litter that was ready for new homes.
Normally she gets $500-1000 + shipping, not in our budget for sure.
She said she would talk to her mom and see what she could do. Well the offer was so good we had to say yes and Laurens mom and dad were coming out to the kid’s house for Christmas so they brought Abby out with them at no cost for shipping.
To say we are thrilled would be the understatement for 2017.
Update:
I never knew that there were four kinds of labs. I think we got the forth one.

Actually Abby is doing great, she has settled in nicely and her and Whitney are best of buds. We are super pleased with the progress we've made with her so far.

Whitney and Abby bonded instantly and played together until they both were to tired to play anymore.
