You know you're getting old when...

Yes. Many Buicks actually. When you look at the VIN if you see the letter "C" it's a Chinese made. I saw lots of them while working for the rental car company. Mostly the little SUV Buick sells. GM wants to shift pretty much all Buick building to China. Because they sell more Buicks in China than just about anywhere else
I learned something new today

Sad…

My first car was a Buick. a 65 Skylark. Wish I had it back. Two guesses who the "stud" is :D

Is that your brother?😉🤪

I can honestly say I have never owned a Buick, Chevy suburban (Lothar), the little Blazer (unnamed) , Dodge Omni 024 (inherited), 68 Lincoln Continental (Abe), orange Ford van (POS), Olds Achieva SCX (Elvis) Dodge Stratus RT (Tiny Elvis), KIA Sportage (unnamed). But, no Buicks.

Nah, my brother is uuuuuugly! Beside back in those das he had blond curly hair and blue eyes. We had a Polish milkman :D
BTW I built and blueprinted that old nail head 300 cu in V8. Bored it over, installed an Isky cam, 11:1 pistons, performance valve job and so on. Backed it with a Turbo 400 trans, Holley double Pumper 750CFM, aluminum intake. By the time I was done did not have money for better gears. So I still had the 3:08 gears. Wasn't much off the line but oh yeah when the cam "came in" left front wheel would twist off the ground and it was bye bye. Never knew what top end really was. Wrapped the needle on the 120 mph speedo all the way down into the odometer and ran out of nerve, backed off.

Awww, Larry! That’s mean! I’ve never really been much of a motor head, I was more interested in vintage instruments, (not as much grease). Besides, I “met“ more girls playing music than I would have in the car crowd where I was.
A buddy of mine had a “Mark Donahue Special” that I drove a few times, hot car!
I forgot my 1967 Pontiac Executive 400 station wagon (Buck) I really loved that vehicle, could haul a whole bluegrass band with PA in it without feeling crowded! The Suburban was even more comfortable but, it had a bigger appetite! Should have died driving several of those rides, the stupidity of youth and pure dumb luck! I left Buck with a girl and my Labrador retriever in Seattle…I miss the car and the dog!

when you remember when gasoline was 29 cents a gallon!
I remember it when it was a quarter and I'd take a gallon milk jug down to the gas station to get gas for the lawn mower.....

My dad once told me he remembered his dad once saying that he didn't know what people were going to do when gas hit a dime a gallon, ...he figured they would just have to quit driving cars

There was a corner not far from where we lived, 3 stations Shell, full service with garage, Standard, full service with garage and, Clark, full service, no shop. The Clark had a cigarette cabinet at each set of pumps ($0.70/pack) pumped, washed the windshield, and checked vitals sometimes for $0.19/ gallon when they decided they were at war! Oh, forgot they checked the tires too! Free air

I remember when I had my 67 VW during the gas wars. I ran out of gas as I costed into the station and had to push it about 20 ft to the pump (bad planning on my part, another 5mph I would have made it to the pump) Filled up the bug and gave the pump jockey $2.00 and got $.15 change.
Ah! those were the days.

Yep, I recall when I would borrow my dad's 1960 Olds 98 that I think (with me driving) got all of maybe 5 mpg, and out bombing around with all my pals. We'd burn up maybe 1/2 to 3/4 tank. Donations were any loose change in pockets. Lint and all and I could pretty much fill the beast back up. Now what I spent to fill that beast won't even by 1/2 gallon of gas

My grandfather had a white '63 or 64 with the 310 Wild Cat and a 2speed auto.
Never heard of a 310. Mine had the "Wildcat" but it was a variable vane torque converter 2 spd auto and 300 cu in. In 65 they switched from the trouble prone aluminum block to a cast iron block. Darn near bullet proof
