Weber says something big is coming

Yeah I don't agree with the "gassers are on the way out" comment. They are still very wanted and will be even more when this ridiculous pellet gimmick phase wears out and all those guys need new grills. They will get gassers. And, now Weber will have a nice new line of smart gassers that are similar to what they did like about pellet grills.

As for treager don't suing, I suspect that explains Weber buying June. They really were buying their smart grill technology and patents.

I don't think pellets are a gimmick. I think pellets and gravity feeds are the future.

IMO, the future is a barbecue smoker that can also grill. That's what the Weber SmokeFire does, and also the Masterbuilt Gravity Feed. Its also what Kamados do best.

We're also seeing Kettles that double as smokers, Weber has been selling that model in Europe and its available here now. When Weber puts a heat deflector in a 26 , wow, now look out.

We find out tomorrow

Meanwhile, WalMart now has their line of pellet pooper under their Expert Grill brand, this stuff is taking market share from somebody, who that might be, I won't guess. I'm not privy to industry data.

If that's it? color me not impressed.
Me neither. Just shows they're willing to trade even more quality off for "styling" and sell it as some kind of improvement. I would hardly call going to mild steel stampings something other than cheaping out

I think its pretty cool looking myself love the design folds up nice and flat sure a lot of campers, tailgaters or whatever would jump on this.

Well, if that is it, it sure doesn’t look like a gravity feed. Bummer, oh well maybe next time
They have enough problems trying to get the Smoke Fire to work let alone designing a gravity feed which IMO is currently a limited market which has much less growth prospects than the pellet market at the time being.

I did not seriously think they would release a gravity feed. But they should. Far less moving parts than a pellet pooper. Much better smoke flavor than pellets. Doesn't force people to go buy a bunch of bags of pellets .............. ohhh wait, maybe that's the appeal of pellets?

But somebody will make a quality gravity feed that does not cost $2,500 .

Hard telling what is going on in the dark recesses of Weber’s R&D dept. And as far as gravity feed being a limited market, well it’s only limited by what is being offered in a price range most people are willing to spend. Just my opinion, for what it’s worth.
