Same thing happened to me, too, only I was holding a pet rabbit (a big boy) and a clap of thunder went off. He ripped through my shirt, T-shirt, and skin on my chest to get away. I think you're right about recovery. It took me about 3 weeks too.
 
"True Story" Wifey had a dream the other night about a trip to Sam's club, where she was picking up things I ordered. Anxiety peaked during checkout as she noticed the order was "ALL MEAT" and the first brisket was $5,000 and the grand total was north of $15,000..... she woke up in a cold meat sweat...We both had a good laugh when she told me about her dream. I assured her that Sam's does not carry Wagyu brisket, and that $5000 brisket usually comes from Snake River Farms... ;)
