I hit the big seven-zero Friday and smoked two 7 pound butts for the party Jo was throwing for me Saturday.
Dusted off the 18" for this cook.
SYD rub, Weber charcoal for the fuel, and hickory for the smoke.
Near the end of the 10 hour cook.
Pulled.
The Weber coal worked very well, locked in rock steady at 260 for 10 hours and was still going strong.
No ash build up problems at all, and I'd guess the ash total was about half that of Kbb.
Not that I'll pop for another $20 bag though.
Here what it looked like the next morning.
Party day.
Jo got the sides from Bandana's Bar-B-Q, coleslaw, baked beans, potato salad, and garlic bread.
My first plate.
The cake was chocolate with a custard filling.
Some of my gifts.
13 of us in all, and plenty of leftover pulled pork to send some home with family members.
Thanks for the visit!
