It's raining Skylines!

I say go with the Silver C. That will allow you to get one more grill out of the way for the Skyline to have more space once you are done with it. Also it will clear space for more grills!

Skyline - Unless you would still restore it this fall if the Silver sells. Otherwise, do an all-out on the Skyline and enjoy. Maybe someone will see it as special enough to pony up the $

I think I will go with the Skyline. Chris almost had me sold on the Silver C, but I remembered the party that sold me the grill was really interested in why I wanted it and when I told them I was going to fix it up, they were really interested. When my sister picked it up, she said they would love to see the final product. I would love to get it done and be able to show them some before and after pictures. Plus, I have a set of SS flavorizer bars for a Genesis 1000 ready to go. I will probably keep the Silver C in the garage and work on it as much as I can before the winter takes over. The other grills will all have to spend the winter in the backyard behind the shed under a tarp but I will probably pare the 5 down to 2 or 3 as some need to be parted out. Also, it (Skyline) will give me all winter to leave it listed in CL and FB with the inflated price hoping for the right person to spot it.
Thanks everyone for the advice.

Good choice! Do,the Skyline for your “backstock”
Use the silver C as bait for fishing for future sales, keep the guy on the line for the silver and just wait.

Bruce, you must have a helluva market up there. You would have a very hard time getting
$350 to $400 for both of them combined where I am.

I just sold my Genesis 1000 last night for $240.

Here is a Silver B I sold last month for $250

I will list the Skyline high and just sit on it. If the right guy like Jon's long lost brother sees it, I am sure he will jump on it. :)

In the mean time, it will be a nice display/conversation piece while I have it around. It will also help to draw interest and contacts from CL and FB marketplace.

Both those grills look so amazing! I mean people are pretty much getting a new grill that will last them for 15-20 years. And you just can not find grills that look that good.
Great job Bruce!

Bruce they look awesome. But I doubt I can get these prices here in Texas. Right now I have a newer Spirit listed which I got cheap and where I used my cheap brand new parts which I got a few weeks ago. But so far no interest or low ball offers. But I am not in a hurry either.

Stephan, you are in the land of huge discounts of grills right now with Lowes, Target and some Home Depots selling some of their new grills for not much more than I am selling my rehabs.
People hear are still seeing $799 and up for the Genesis line and figure a well rehabbed older model at 1/3 price is a better deal. When some people are buying Spirit grills for under $300, you are competing against Weber themselves.

In your listing, I have a suggestion if you don't mind: I would change up that first photo. It looks like the lid is "dirty" when it is simply heat discoloration or just the camera angle. If it is discoloration, I have heard that you can get that out of stainless fairly easy. Either way, take a different angle so it doesn't show so much for the showcase photo or use one of the other photos for the showcase photo. It is all about first impressions. If they see that new interior first, they might get drawn in easier rather than simply clicking to the next Weber on the list.

I do feel fortunate in that I seem to be able to get good prices for my grills. If I couldn't get close to that, I would cut back a lot on my rehabs. It is a lot of dirty work and sometimes when it is 85 degrees and sunny with 80% humidity on the hot asphalt driveway, I wonder what the he11 I am doing out there trying to grind crud out of a cook box. I don't make a lot, but I don't want to do it for free either unless I am doing for a friend or special occasion.

Good luck with that grill. Don't be in a hurry to mark it down. You are just waiting for the right person to come along.

Thanks Bruce. You brought up a good point. You are right, the photos don't look that great. Yes it is camera angle and reflections. I got most of the heat stains out using vinegar and baking soda. But there are some small ones at the lip of the hood an one on the side burner hood I cannot get off. I think I will retake the photos. And no I am not in a hurry.
And yes we are or I am competing against brand new Weber right now. I have never seen these aggressive discounts before. And unfortunately this grill is too new to count as classic compared to the old Weber .

Stefan, I think that is the Lowes deals flooding the market not helping you plus that looks pretty high for a spirit. Here is one in ATL on craigslst brand new.

Sure, he obviously bought that grill at Lowes or Target or wherever for under $300 and is flipping it for nice profit and no work. That along with the grill still in the stores being marked down is driving the prices down across the board.

Same here. There are about 20 ads on my local CL site with people reselling these most recent cheap grills. One seller with at least 5 of them. From 210 to 610.

Its people like this that make it easy selling the grills you rehabbed!

Keith that look like a good candidate to rehab at the right price same one I just picked up one Tuesday with the wood on the bottom shelf. Everything looks like its there including the left swing table and even the wood hard to tell looks like it could be re-used. He has had it up for sale for a month might want to toss him an offer.

Mine is a keeper got it for free lucky by the way but if you wanted a redhead bad enough I don't think $50 bucks is unreasonable if the burners and bars are okay. The few redheads in ATL do not show up very often around here and usually disappear pretty quick. Two showed up before Labor day I got one and the other he wanted 30 bucks for missing the side drop down table that one sold for $30 maybe he took less but it was gone in less than 5 days.

I have more redheads that I know what to do with
