Ga$oline Pri¢es

$1.92.9 at our Costco yesterday in Loves Park IL. Same at Sam's in Rockford. Cheapest around. Can't figure for the life of me why every place else in the region is at least .30 gal higher
Tried to buy at Sam's on Walton Dr in Rockford the lines to get in to the gas station looked like a replay of 1973. It wrapped all the way out and for 2 blocks out to Bell School Rd to the East and almost to Perryville nearly 1/2 mile to the west. Went to Costco. In and out 5 min

Still $1.929 at both Sam's and Costco but all the other stations around the region are $2.20 to $2.39 no wonder the lines at Sam's look like 1973 all over again. They will allow anyone to buy there (a deal they had to make with the city of Rockford vultures) but if you're a Sam's member you get a nickle discount so even without the discount it's still WAY cheaper than anyone else. I wish they only allowed members as I am getting tired of driving the extra 3 miles to go to Costco to avoid the stupid lines. I can get to Costco, fill up and get back in less time then getting through the lines LOL

Y'all know the reason we're enjoying these low prices is due to an oil supply glut ? We were headed for this glut without Covid, but Covid has made it larger.

Our prices were falling because of a huge increase in domestic production from 2010 till last year. Low oil prices have stopped that, however, and domestic production is falling. And who knows how long it will take before demand recovers as we get past this pandemic.

We paid our highest price for gasoline when domestic oil production was at its lowest, right around 2008 to 2010.

We would be cheaper by maybe .30 a gallon were it not for our illustrious grand high exalted puba. He raised gas tax in Illinausea by .38 a gal! Then we pay sales tax on top of that tax.

$2.05 at Costco. We like Bob don't do much driving anymore. Barb goes to work at Safeway with the 4 Runner which is about 5 miles round trip. A tank of gas lasts her over a month. I don't go anywhere unless it's a doctor appointment. I filled up the Santa Fe which stays at home on Sept. 6 and it still has over a quarter of a tank.
So gas prices don't get me to excited.
