I decided to try a recipe from Weber's Greatest Hits cookbook.

I added more salt to this recipe ahead of time.

Black bean salad. Full disclosure: my wife did most of the heavy lifting on this salad and by most, I mean all. She tweaked it a little with some red wine vinegar to kick the acidity up a bit.

Seasoned up with the rub.

Fired up the Kettle this time with mostly reused KBB.

Meat cooking.

After the cook.

Sliced flank steak.

Plated. This recipe turned out fanastic! I look forward to trying out more stuff in it. This one seemed like an easy one to dip my toes in. I was totally prepared to chop up the salad on my own! Thanks for looking!

Glad you manned up on the salad Dustin! What a fantastic looking plate and meal. I'm enjoying the Greatest Hits book too.... so is my wife.

Black beans are considered a super food, but the whole dang plate looks super to me.

Can you share your bean salad recipe?

Nice looking plate of food Dustin. Your wife did an excellent job cooking the flank steak.:p

Looks great Dustin, kudos to your wife on the salad that looks really good. Barb and I have a lot of fun doing meals together and even more fun tweaking recipes to our tastes or plopping a piece of protein on the counter and creating a recipe on the fly.

Dustin that is a fantastic cook, meat is done perfect. Congrats to your wife, that salad is out of the ball park. You make a great team, hope to see more of your cooks together.

The steak looks perfect. Great job. The salad also looks yummy. Kim fancies herself a salad gourmet (with good reason!) so I am excited to show her this!
