Weber Going On A Road Show to Promote the SmokeFire

Well, I think Weber knows they can't lose out in this critical pellet grill arena and feels more confident that the SmokeFire's rough launch is behind them. They are taking the show on the road this summer to allow people to see it in action with Weber representatives there to answer questions (and help move grills!):

Despite what the email I received says, this event is NOT coming to a city near me. :( Oklahoma is the westernmost location for this tour.

Well, I’m 140 miles from Palatine and they aren’t crossing into Michigan! They can go “Pee up a rope” as far as I’m concerned. Im not that interested! I’ll check out the one my buddy got one of these days but, sure as toilets swirl clockwise in the northern hemisphere I doubt I’ll be buying anything new from the company.
Not screaming but, I’m just not impressed.

They did an Ace Hardware grand opening here in north Texas a couple of weeks ago and had Weber staff running a SF providing burgers and dogs. I only found out because I was trolling a BGE site, which they also sell.

The last four dates are a little over an hours drive for me, but as much as I love Weber products I just don't see myself ever jumping on the pellet band wagon.

Yeah they aren’t coming near me in NC either, hoping they do a sale in June for Father’s Day b/c this looks like the year for me boys - I’ve gotten the soft “OK” from the wife so hope to be pulling the trigger on a EX6.

I was surprised at that. They're heading to GA but no stops in NC.

If I counted correctly, they're only hitting 9 states. Pretty disappointing. And to rub salt in the wound, they're having a sweepstakes to win (among other things) a Smokefire. But you can't enter without attending one of the events.

I noticed that too, no AZ on the list either. Not a problem for me though I'm very happy with my Camp Chef so I'm not in the market for a smokeFire anyway.

Maybe I will get super lucky! My wife would be thrilled if one if those showed up at the door. She almost wouldn’t speak to me when I bought a crimson kettle from BBQGuys.com during their “scratch and dent sale. At least if I got a FREE SmokeFire it would be harder for her to complain😎!

I am sure they are hitting areas where they want to boost sales. Looks like LOWES is the primary host for the Weber Road Show.

I noticed Lowes now offers free shipping on the EX4 and EX6. Sadly at my Midland TX - Lowes store the Weber aisle had so many models that they had to fit them in there sideways. Not a very good presentation and the SmokeFire was at the back of the aisle.

Looks like the tour will be just N of us. I’d love to go but don’t think I’ll make it this time.

I gotta admit, i saw these at Lowe’s the other day. They sure are nice looking ...but cha-ching $. Too rich for my blood right now.

You may be right about boosting sales but its kind of hard in ATL to boost sales when you don't have any in stock. That list had 2 locations for the road show in ATL one in Augusta which is nowhere near the metro area but does border parts of SC the other was in Marietta which is pretty heavily populated. Marietta has an EX4 in stock guessing since they hosted a road show they would have needed something to sell if people were impressed so maybe they had more at the time no EX6's in stock. Maybe it was effort if they did well to convince Atlanta Lowe's to carry them in stock who knows.

All the other Lowes in ATL from what I can see including my local store do not stock them and they are not on display. What's different from a month ago at least you can get an EX4 shipped to the store for free not the case for the EX6. That still is ship to home only at a cost of 59 bucks which is the same as getting an EX4 shipped to home for the same price.

Well I guess there is no real need to do a tour around here. I mean with all the Traegers and such we will be okay. Just in time too. Summer and maybe even spring could arrive any month.

Funny thing is though.. last year all the other companies were in a panic. They really thought their whole market would soon collapse. They ran a lot of marketing. They did a lot of "tours", mostly Costco type events. Seemed like a desperate last ditch effort to lock in market share, move product, or keep some residual pellet sales. Not quite how it turned out...
