Eight pound butt going on my little WSM in the morning.
Just me and my wife Jo Anne tomorrow, so it's pretty easy to please that crowd.
Sides planned are baked beans, coleslaw, corn, and deviled eggs.
She has her monthly bunco game tonight, so I'm grilling meatballs for my dinner.
Off the fire and into the sauce. Sandwich pic later, if you're lucky.

I texted with Jim Lampe earlier, he's been prepping today for 20 or so guests tomorrow.
Said he's getting up at 3 AM to get a brisket going.

I've got the wsm loaded up with kbb and pecan chunks. My chimney is prepped. I've got a 15 lb Aspen Ridge prime brisket trimmed and seasoned waiting in the fridge. I'm probably going to start it at 4a.m.

I'm so bummed that we have to be gone tomorrow. My smoke day is going to have to be on Sunday when my daughter and her boyfriend are coming over. Have fun everyone!

Don't be bummed if you can't smoke today, it's really a 3 day event and plenty of folks will be delayed a day or two.

I started an 8.5 lb. butt at 6:30 AM over lump with pecan and hickory.
Pretty big load for the 14"
