Meatloaf on a plank, again!

I got to hankerin' for meatloaf on a plank. Fortunately, my wife had the "fixin's" in the frig and we were able to proceed. She precooked the veggies (as per the recipe from The Plank Grilling Cookbook):

She also made the sauce (critical to this recipe). I soaked the plank, as usual, then Marilyn built the meatloaf on the plank:

She then spread the sauce:

Here it is ready to go on the grill:

After forty-five minutes, the instant thermometer told me we needed fifteen minutes more, then it is ready to pull:

Marilyn also had small stuffed crimini mushrooms, baked potatoes, and her signature cold bean salad:

This has become one of my favorite grilled foods! Try it, you'll like it!

Great looking loaf! I'll have to try that. Post some deets on the bean salad when you get a chance. That looks great too!

Dale, that was a awesome meatloaf your wife made and doing it on the plank, you did good. I do my meatloafs on the Performer all the time but never on a plank will have to try that.

Thanks for all of the kind words, folks! This meatloaf recipe is SPECIAL! If anyone is interested, just send me a Private Message with your current email address and I'll send the recipe for the meatloaf, sauce, and also the bean salad by attachment.

Great lookin' meatloaf. We fix meatloaf on the grill but will have to give it a try on the plank next time.
thanks for the idea.

Here is a copy of the Sour Five Bean Salad. This is served cold and is great with just about anything. The recipe makes a rather large amount. However, when Marilyn makes it we have it several days in a row with whatever else we are eating. Good Stuff! Old family recipe with some modern improvements:
