Lazy Easter, Beef Ribs, Motorcycle back on the road

My old enduro has been off the road since ~2011----I got it running and licensed, and took it out for a test drive. I was so excited when I got it running I ripped it around the neighborhood without checking the tire pressure.....and being a slightly modified wannabe-wheelie-monster...the back wheel wobbled (became unbalanced)... anyway I worked on it a bit last night & this morning, then went to check on the snow conditions.

Stopped at the grocery store on the way back - I found some beef ribs @ $2.99/lb so I grabbed a couple small sections.

I found some "beef bones" too - I picked up 3 small sections and gave one to my pup--------the 2 remaining (in the freezer) pieces will be going into the next soup/chili/stew I cook up

After I got home I fired up the coals & threw on the meat - I realized I'd only have an hour to ski if I went back up (I should've gone) so I cracked an oil can & kicked back

Here they are seasoned - salt (pink Himalayan), pepper (fresh cracked), granulated garlic, & cayenne.

Thanks Jim :)

I'm definitely out of practice. I'm calibrating quickly though.... it's a bit of a hooligan machine so I need to be careful, even after (especially after) I get tuned up.

Hey Clint... I've got a 68 Triumph Bonneville 650 in my garage. I think you just inspired me to get it running! Nice ribs too!

Looks like a mighty fine, lazy, Easter Sunday to me. Great lookin' cook and pics, Clint!

I checked them at 2.75 hours & they looked darker than in this pic, so I grabbed the therm & they read >205F at the thickest point & were tender so I pulled them...

They were done before I had a chance to prepare a side dish so I had some more ribs on the side!

This was Sweet Baby Ray's with some Habanero sauce, the next round had SBR & then some Raspberry-Chipotle on the side....

This is only the 2nd edible batch of beef ribs I've made, I think. I hope to pick up a nice big pack from Rest Depot sometime this summer.

(((((& Cliff - do it! That's a nice bike - get on it! :) )))

Clint;
Pictures of your bike sure brought back a lot of memories. I raced in the dirt for ten years. My last dirt bike was a 250 Bultaco. My last road bike was a Honda Shaft Drive 650 Nighthawk.

Thanks for the memories...

On topic: Good lookin' beef ribs, too.

Keep on smokin',

Great looking ribs Clint, but where's the chicken:) Beef ribs can be tuff to get right but when you do they're great. Boy enduros have sure changed I know I'm going to date myself but the last enduro I had was a 1972 Honda 250 I bought new. The thing was a tank but you couldn't kill it.

Thanks - the BR were good - glad I checked them when I did since my I wasn't using anything to monitor the temps.

The snow is still really good here but warming quickly---It peaked around 3 weeks ago, never got as good as normal (bad year but still good), I didn't hit any true backcountry, only Snowbird. I'll go another few times this year.... I waited for decent coverage to hit my favorite run only about a dozen times, & there were a lot of places I just didn't go due to the lower coverage & my conditioning.

This side is called the Wasatch Front, & includes Snowbird/Alta, & then Solitude & Brighton.... the park city side, that sucks even on good years, it's called the wasatch back.

Spring skiing started a couple months early..........not sure what to make of it, it was a lot lower than normal. I miss the "hero" snow (easy & fun to ski),,,,it was pretty tough this year.
