I will just leave this here

Rich,
Unfortunately not...see post 19.

Jeff
I figured as much. I figured someone new for sure. A quick look over, it really is in pretty solid shape. Looks like it has never been used. The steel parts are a bit rougher that I would have liked but I intend to covert it to an open cart. Then probably use a green, red or blue lid on it.

The next question is converting to a cart, i have seen where people do not replace the cross braces and where they have. I think i will likely get a couple pieces of stainless to beef it up. Any one done the conversion without using them? Seems it would make the grill rickety.

I am converting mine to an open cart. I am using the bottom wire rack from a 2002 Genesis Gold that was designed to be used without those lower cross members. It snaps in place over the two short narrow cross bars already in place. Its a quick and easy solution but you gotta have the part and its been discontinued. I believe 2002 and 2003 are the years they made the Weber Genesis Gold model with this rack. The rack is #60145. If you don't use this exact rack then you will definitely need to add a couple of supports or the cart will be rickety for sure.

Here's one of those Spirit grills that I'm convinced were intended for export (minimal printing on the control panel). Notice the angle on the badge...that's a first for me. $100

More the opposite, I think. When they came out with the new (then) 300 series I believe they shipped the tooling for the Silver A & B to China, dumbed them down (no fold down tables, simple control panel) and imported them back to the US, now to be sold as Spirit grills.

You may very well be right, Jon, and we will never know for certain, but I've always assumed that the printed instructions were originally put on the control panels because the company attorneys said it would be a good idea, so if they removed the instructions and then imported them back to the US to sell alongside the nearly identical Genesis with the instructions, might that not expose them to litigation?

Hebrew National logo?

Don't see on of these beasts very often.

As much as I rant against those grills, that one is way nicer than most. I think the black is way classier than all stainless. Does look well cared for but no inside cabinet pictures🧐. All of those cabinets are highly susceptible To rust in addition to the here well documented stories of firebox rust through. It would be an awesome setup on Rich’s bone dry patio in Arizona.

The LH -RH tables don't interchange. You have the curved front tables and the end caps match the curve on the left but not on the right because you have a burner. If you replace the burner with a curved front table the end cap won't match the contour. You can see this in the picture of yours vs Bruce's. I just went through this on my Silver C, so grab both the tables and end caps if you are going that route.

I’ve never seen a Coca Cola logo on one before. And it’s only two minutes from my house... so tempting.

I'm still working on my first Genesis 1000 - difficult to do with a near 2 year old 👀 - and I'm making some progress, thanks to all of your responses and contributions here. I was wondering something: I searched into the forum archives and found brake caliper paint to be the best way to touch up lid edges (mine has very minor erosion on it, but some small rust spots on the sides where it meets the lid end caps). However, my hood is green and I'm finding it difficult to find dark green caliper paint. Would it be best to just touch up the lid edges with black caliper paint (would be covered by end caps) or just let it be?

I touched up a green lid on a Silver B/Genesis 1000 with green Rustoleum High Temp paint and some gloss. The green is matte, but once you put
the clear gloss on it, it becomes very much gloss.

I saw that one, too, Steve. One hour for me, but I will let you have at it since I have too many projects already. I could see replacing the handle and cheap side table and making it look like a real redhead, two burner configuration not withstanding. Pop in some GrillGrates and you will have one really cool little grill.

You didn't know that Weber made an open cart model of the 300 series did you?
