A little over a month ago I started a fresh batch of Kraut. I make several batches a year and we were all out, well except for the one jar that I am aging for at least a year before cracking into. It was finally ready last weekend. It actually gets better the longer that it ages, but for now its just getting good.

I have been craving one of my favorite meals. Brats with butter Sauteed apples, onions and kraut. I dug deep into the freezer to retrieve my last pack of homemade brats. Had my sous chef slice the apple and onions and get them sauteing while I tended to the grill. The boys don't care for kraut so I added it to the apples and onions after dishing them up. Bit of good mustard oh yeah!
Ended up with 5 quarts of kraut!
