Beautiful 72 degree, sunny Saturday.
We took the OTP to give to grandson Blake. (my $30 CL find)

The girls ran to greet us, (they thought we were going to feed them)

Blake had the pork steaks about finished on his WSM.

Checked out his recently re-done bedroom.

Then we had a fine dinner and a great visit.

Sunday we were greeted with temps in the 30's and this:

But the butt must go on.
Half with Pig Salt. (thanks Jim L!}
Half with Simply Marvelous Spicy Apple Rub. (thanls Mike C!)

The high winds ate my fuel up.
It looked like this after about 8 hrs. and was wrapped in foil and went into a 300 degree oven to finish.

Plated up with slaw and potato salad.

Not my very best, but no complaints either.
Both rubs are excellent, separately and when mixed together after pulling.

Wonderful cooking both dinners!
You're a Super Granddad to Blake and a Superhuman to Brooke!

Your grandson has the fever, for sure! How great is that?
Everything looks great, Bob...and Blake!

Your Grandson has me beat by a mile, Bob. I don't think I've ever cooked a PS that good lookin' (yet)!

Bob;
Thanks for sharing with us. Pictures of your Grandson, his cook, and "man cave" is extraordinary. You sir, are a lucky man. I have strong suspicions that you are responsible for your Grandson's BBQ addiction! That young man is certainly on the right path!

Bob,
I have a request. Could you detail the way a feller cooks a pork steak on the WSM? I do mine on the grill but am MOST interested in the WSM method, too.

Keep on smokin',

Super cooking Bob!! Looks like Blake has the queing bug real bad!!

Both cooks look tasty Bob and Blake!! Nice!

Blake is growing into a fine cook there Bob. I'll echo the others before me who have already said: those pork steaks and butt do look good.

you got that lad pointed in the right direction - your slaw looks good - <insert casual hint> I'm always looking for a improved slaw recipe <\casual hint>
