Sad that accident today might be the end of Tiger's career certainly done this year. Per reports a shattered ankle and two leg fractures, one of them compound.
For a lot of people Russ who could not care less about golf until Tiger came along the reason those pros are making the money they are today is because of Tiger Woods. Perfect man no but never seen a better golfer and I love Jack but in those days the competion was no where what it is today because there were not many players from overseas who could afford to come and play in the US.I'm thinking this on top of his ongoing back issues will do it for sure. Sad for sure because he really did make golf interesting to me.
too oldWill Tiger be the Alex Smith of golf?
my thoughts... at least til he gets bored.I think he will be the next Tony Romo. He will move to announcing and be able to call the game like no other because he knows it so well.
Fox had to do that because they had the NFL and since everything including the Masters was pushed out no way they were giving up the NFL. If Covid had not happened delaying the golf events they would have kept it. Personally the USGA was hunting for more money when they went to Fox not sure what the NBC deal was maybe the same maybe less who knows. In late-June 2020, however, Fox announced that it would opt out of the contract, and sell the remainder to former USGA broadcast television rightsholder NBC Sports.
As the old saying goes...karma's a b*tch.Hate to see the stuff that happened to him, self inflicted or not, happen to anyone.
To me Woods doesn't have TV-level charisma and can come across as cold and standoffish, unlike guys like Gary McCord and David Feherty (even though they weren't top-echelon golfers).I think he will be the next Tony Romo. He will move to announcing and be able to call the game like no other because he knows it so well.
