Best simple ribs I ever had.....

I apologize this is not my cook. We went to the L.A. County Fair yesterday and this ribs we had were good. I wanted to share how simple can be good also. No seasoning just smoke for flavor. They used oak, mesquite and apple mix. The sauce was good. We walked around and this BBQ place was the one with the longest lines.
Here are a few pics

My wagon full of beer. I was afraid I was going to get caught. They had metal detectors and checking everyone. Like an airport. The only thing that no one had to take their shoes off. They asked to see my cooler and I said I only have my kids drinks and snacks. :o

Fairs are bout to start here in a few weeks. Love the smell of the food!! It's always interesting to see what is fried from year to year. Last year was a fried stick of butter. Lol

Cool post.

Nice pictures Tony. The wife and I used to go to the L.A.C.F when we lived in Lake Forest in Orange County before moving to Prescott Az 12 years ago, sure do miss it nothing like that here.

Thanks for the pics Tony, nice looking Family and i like the beer holders on the wagon:cool:.

Tony;
You wife and you make a handsome couple and your children are beautiful!!

Your kids will remember this day for a LONG, LONG, time. Nothing like building those memories, one day at a time.

The BBQ looks terrific, too! The skill of the cook has much more to do with flavor than seasonings, I suspect. On the other hand, when we do our own, we can seek the flavor profile that WE (and our guests) prefer...

Thanks for sharing a lovely day with us!

I wish we had fairs like this where I live. Looks like a grand day out.
Very impressive rib grills!
I did not quite understand the part of "beer" and "getting caught". Is it illegal to bring beer? Was it impossible to buy a glass or two?

Beer cost $9.00 for a cup.
It's against their rules to bring in beer. I brought in a 24 pack.
When I didn't have kids I would spend around 150 dollars on beer.

Very nice Tony. That must be the secret "beer wagon " =)
My wife is 12 weeks pregnant now =) I will also build " special cooler" as soon as possible.

You had a chance....but it was all Chargers today.....hope this doesn't get you smoking past 225*

Very cool pics Tony!!! I like ribs with salt and pepper, never tried them with nothing on them, might have to try that and see.

Great idea on the beer! Just hide the beer under the kids drinks and snacks! Looks like you all had a fun day. I never foil my ribs, no water pan, usually not much more then salt pepper garlic powder and smoke and they come out good and tender. I look forward to your rib post.

Tony i did ribs in my PBC hung start to finish came out spot on and tender no wraping try it you will like it less candy taste more meat flavor
