Wanted to try something different with the ham bone left over from Christmas that I smoked on the performer.
Timothy did this recipe he found and I decided to give it a try.

Of course I made a few modifications.
The recipe for the stock is really good, very nice flavor. I didn’t have fresh parsley so I used dried.
The soup I added 12 slices of bacon and 1/3 the salt and doubled the pepper. My other four cups of liquid was low sodium chicken broth.
At the end I added the meat that was taken off the ham bone.
Barb made some pumpkin cornbread to go with the soup.
The soup was excellent and so was the cornbread. I will do it again for sure.
