Anybody grilling?

That’s a nice setup like my smoke
Tube too!

This was a simultaneous grill and smoke.

I have also used a tube and pellets to cold smoke chicken and meat before grilling. We had discussions way back on the health safety limits of how much time quality poultry and meat can be cold smoked out of the fridge. I have gone for a maximum of 90 minutes in the heat of the summer. It added a ton of flavor to the food and no one was ever ill from it.

And now they’re saying we might experience an atmospheric river. We had one of these last rainy season and they drop impressive rain in a short window.

And the Flood Watch begins. We’re about to get pummeled. We just might get out of the drought we’ve been in.

Well, I broke the Q320 out last night and one of my nice hand cut NY Strips.
I know for some would have likely thought me crazy. Temps were about 40 no wind to speak of. Actually felt comfortable outside with a scotch wearing shorts and T-Shirt. But, after -18 to -22 F 40 is "balmy". BTW I have those flat cut stainless grates. This was cooked with only the outside burner ring turned on to med/high output

I moved the patio table out and rolled the grills under the covered patio. The open sides are east and north so the E330 will be fairly dry and easy to get to. The others are easier to move around, but the WSK will be the most used.

When I know it will rain hard like today and the rest of the week, I'll roll the entire team under cover. It only takes a couple of mins to clear space to grill and I know the grill of choice will be dry.

OK, so I got the talking part done 😁

It's currently 55° here and not windy so I couldn't resist rolling the grill out of the garage to make some burgers for my son. This is the first test drive of the grill with the cook box that I bent back into shape. You can also see the handle of my snowblower in the foreground. 20221229_214323.jpg

I'm curious to know if it holds it's shape after the heat/cool cycle
As for me, it was take out Chinese tnite. Was converting my fog lights on my Highlander to LED switchback bulbs. (meaning they can change colors white, amber, blue though not sure what blue is for). Just did my low beams last week. Car is a 2011 and still had bulbs it was born with. The low beams were beginning to change colors slightly (the right one turning pink). They seem to work quite well. Anyway after all the stuff I had to do today, including chasing around with grandson to buy him some new shoes. No way I was cooking

I was curious too so I measured it. The answer is no, it has already bowed back out to nearly what it started at. The grates aren't falling in yet but I will see what happens after future cooks. The top picture is the measurement I just took and the bottom picture is from when I was done straightening it.20221229_225051.jpg20221109_182156.jpg

If it stays within that 1/16th of an inch you will be fine. That’s a really nice looking grill, so I am rooting for you on that!

The blue is to terrorize all drivers over 45 years old that drive at night.

But I am one of those drivers :D Bottom line I would never use it. Wish it wasn't there. But, these were the only bulbs I found that could do the "switchback" for the size needed for my fog lights.

I know it’s a dead - and very cold - time of year. I have been trying to not let the miserable weather knock me out if grilling like it has grill restoration.

Did these steaks Christmas Eve which is also my older son’s birthday. It has become a tradition:

Also used my funny Landmann pellet kettle to turn out some bbq chicken:

Planning on grilling some Costa Rican chicken and Chorizo tomorrow “if the weather holds-up”:D
