Used Pizza Kettle Mod - could not get the temp above 400 degrees.

I have the kettle pizza mod and tried it last night for the first time. I used an overfilled chimney with Kingsford and added three chunks of post oak and still could not get the temp above 350-400, which is nowhere near what is needed to make pizza. All vents were wide open. Any idea what the...

Weber Crafted Pizza Stone (aka Glazed Baking Stone) - First Look

Introduction We recently bought a 2022 Genesis grill and have been using it for about a week. It replaced our much older Genesis grill. The Weber Crafted Frame Kit was included with the new grill. We ordered the Weber Crafted Pizza Stone (Weber part #7671) and also the Flat Top Griddle (#7672)...

    Pizza cook

I noticed we haven't seen much in the way of cook pics from the Weber gassers lately, so here's mine. Every Sunday we do homemade pizza, which I cook in the Platinum B (2005). This time of the year I do most of my cooking on charcoal, but the heat of the Platinum is easier to get dialed in...

    Thin crust pizza recipe

Hi All, I posted pictures of my pizzas baked on my old Genesis 1000 yesterday and a couple of the forum members requested the recipe. Here it is: This is a dough that uses a preferment. It is made in two parts. It's pretty simple and doesn't take much work or time but you have to plan ahead...

    Pizza...SUCCESS!!!

Many of you have followed my pizza saga since I got my Performer and joined the forum. This story has had enough twists and turns to make Dostoevsky weak in the knees and have to steady himself on the furniture. Tonight...it was good eating. Got my kettle up to 500F, dropped the stone on...

What's inside! Everyone wants to know what's inside...

Simple question, so then what's the answer? My whole life is in here! In this kitchen baking. What a mess I'm making. For kudos, tell me where the caption comes from. This shows me that while super cool, the pizzaque doesn't seem to be a necessary attachment.

    Pizza Accessory

I'd like to start making pizzas on my kettle, so I'm looking for suggestions on the best pizza making accessories. Is the Gourmet BBQ System w/ pizza stone all that I need or should I go all out and get something like the kettle pizza kit? I'd like to get the Gourmet cast iron grate for...

    Pizza on the PizzaQue

Yesterday night we had a Halloween party for the kids and filling the house with 4-5 years olds made me think that cooking pizza outside on the terrace wouldn't be such a bad idea after all :) Preparations in the afternoon, I went with this layout, coals filling the two baskets and the space at...

My mild mods for pizza rig

I got a 22" Original on clearance, and made a few improvements. Intent is to use this for pizza and as a spare grill occasionally. My pizza technique is to use a thick steel plate as a cooking surface (see photo), preheated on my chimney. I get the steel up to about 500F, and run the grill...

    Pizza headaches

I've been trying to grill pizzas in my unmodded 22" kettle but I'm not satisfied with the results - I could use some help here. The dough I made was using a stock recipe I found used active yeast, olive oil, sugar, salt, warm water and italian 00 pizza flour and I left in the fridge for a day...

What do you think of this pizza setup? (OTG 22.5)

I finally tried grilling pizza yesterday and I think my setup has promise, just needs some tweaking. This pic is just after removing the lid after 6-8 minutes of cooking. This is my 22.5" kettle. I used a heaping chimney of hardwood charcoal plus a couple of handfuls extra on the grate. I...

Has anyone used BOTH the Weber Pizza Oven and the KettlePizza?

We have seen many posts about both of these pizza cookers but no one has mentioned a head to head review. Has anyone used both of them and if so, how do they stack up against each other. It seems like the Weber unit is less expensive since you don't need to add options, but the KettlePizza is...

    Smoked chicken pizza

I don't usually care for chicken on my pizza but this was pretty good. Spinach, onion, garlic on top of the sauce. Slices of mozzarella, sautéed crimini's, and yesterday's smoked chicken. Cooked in the oven on a stone. One of the better ones we've made lately Kev

    6520 Launch - Success

Fired it up today. Never, ever had pizza that tastes this good! Added some chunks of Pecan wood for flavor. Excellent! Only had a cheap wood peel, so I transferred the pies to the stone on screens. Removed screens after 3 minutes. Total time for each pie was about 8 minutes. Here are some pix:

This is some pizza rolls that my ma did alot when i was young. Never turned out as good as these though.(she cheaped out on the filling) These are great to have in the freezer when the kids say they are hungry. Pizza! Pizza! and more Pizza! Very fun to grill pizza!

This is sooo simple to make, and fun to do, on the weber grill. Just throw some coals on the outer edges of the grill, use a non stick pizza pan, buy some pizza dough, divide it by 4, to make mini pizzas, and be creative on your toppings! Each pizza takes anywhere from 7-10 minutes, to cook...

Perfect end to the perfect day

This morning we relaxed and took our time getting to the grandbaby's cheerleading. It's the first cool day of the fall around here. We returned to watch Alabama take care of last year's Heisman Trophy winner out on the deck. We lit a fire in the fire pit, fired up a chimney of lump, whipped up...
