I was thinking a shovel.
Grill sits on the patio, which does have a 1,900 lumen LED array on it. Smoker..... that's out by the back garage, a headlamp is kind of important.
I do have the smoker running right now, it's about 8 F, and a 10mph breeze (predicted up to 35mph.)

My 18x28 carport/grill port lol , 1 end and 1 side covered, west and south, keeps most of the ugly stuff off my equipment, I grill/smoke year round no matter the weather here in Tn

My grills are under a Grillzebo and pretty well sheltered on the North & West, so rain and snow usually aren't a problem. Gotta go with a digital remote thermometer. These old bones don't take to the cold very well.

The cold is not too much an issue for me. Especially thinking how many times someone who randomly came by my house during a snow storm only to find me outside in shorts and a sweatshirt snowblowing LOL. It's the ice and snow and rain that stops me from cooking outside and trying to shovel the deck and such. Which is why I always have a "garage queen" grill. Currently the pellet grill

We don't really get winter here, just some rain on occasion so the main thing for me is light.
I need to add more lighting for my grilling area some day, but until then the winner for me is tongs and spatulas with a slide-in LED flashlight in the handle. I can remove the flashlight and put the tongs or spatula in the dishwasher.
