Working from home - Hocks & Quarters

Taking advantage of some beautiful weather on a day that I'm working from home. Tossed some ham hocks and some chicken leg quarters ($.99 on sale) on at about 225 with some cherry smoke. The hocks will get frozen until they are needed for a recipe. The chicken will either get eaten as is (probably cold), or I'll shred some of the meat to use up in tacos, enchiladas, soup, etc.

A great way to multi-task today!

Just trying to keep up with you, Chuck! Your drummies the other day got me going, and seeing these on sale today sealed the deal.....oh, and I needed something to fill the grate alongside those hocks.

Yep, I'm multitasking also. Sierra Nevada in one hand and tonight's cook in the other! Gorgeous chicken Rich and I foresee some pretty tasty beans coming down the road with those ham hocks.

What a way to be multi tasking. Quarters and hocks look great. We've been picking up chicken at $.69 a pound, can't beat the price.

That chicken looks so delicious, if you plan on left overs good luck. I'd be eating one as soon as it came off the grill. Those hocks look awesome also , haven't had them in many years. Looking forward to seeing some great soup pics.

The only hocks I can find are frozen from Cash & Carry. Would love to get some, brine them and smoke them for beans & soups.

I have a good source for hocks but, never bothered smoking any myself......it may be time!
Also I've noticed more recipes for them recently, better get on them before the prices get stupid!
