V8 Chili Soup

Weather here has been horrible for the last two weeks, windy Icey conditions and cold. So with that I decided I would make some V8 Chili soup on the gasser. Could have done it inside but it’s been so long I’m starting to forget what my grills look like.
Made this recipe up a few years ago flavorful and a nice little bite to it. Great winter soup.
Also makes a large amount so there is plenty left over for lunches.

Some 93/7 I had lurking in the freezer.

Two hours later ready to go in.

Warmth in a cup, good stuff.

Nothing fancy, but super tasty.
Thanks for stopping by.

Currently 11 here, first really cold day this winter, so I could go for a big bowl of that right now!
I've made gazpacho many times, in the summer, with V8, will have to try your chili-soup.

Excellent soup Rich. I used to use V8 in my Bloody Marys, I still would but everyone complains when I do

Rich, that soup looks gooood! While we are not as cold as where you are, it has nevertheless been cool and rainey down here in the valley, so a big bowl of that would hit the spot today. Great choice.

I made some tomato soup last night to go with grilled cheese sandwiches.

Today I'm making minestrone. The recipe from Cooks Illustrated calls for V8. They said: "Though completely nontraditional, V8 juice trumped all the other types of tomato products we tried in our soup. It added just the right amount of bright tomato taste with an even bigger wallop of vegetable flavor."

Looks great Rich! We do this camping all the time in the DO. Like others have mentioned we usually use the spicy V8 and sometimes add a porter or stout to it too. Good stuff!

Rich, ain't you from Illinois??!!
it's 8 now in Raymond, sure its as cold in Chicago... what was your Chili Soup temp?? What??!!! I'll have some!

Its chili weather up here too Rich. I would go for a bowl of that chili about now.
Zero this morning, high of 20 this afternoon. We hear ya on this cold weather we have had. Stay warm.

Yep grew up in the 'burbs of Chicago. Sure it's colder there but, it's in the 20s here and single digits at night. Some of it's the altitude, the wind and mostly my Meds. Once I get cold it takes me hours to get warm again if ever.
If I lived in Chicago now I'd spend six months hibernating with the bears at the Brookfield Zoo.

Although I will warm up when the Cardinals whip the Packers....Again!:D
