TVWBB Tailgate @ Oakland Coliseum, A's vs. Orioles

Well as of now i will be going....might bring a buddy of mine or a kid...not sure whom yet. The anxiousness is killing me already...

I cant wait to see everyone tomorrow...gonna be a good one i hope. The A's are already doing good so now its up to our smokers to follow suit. Is everyone bringing their WSMs or just the Kettles?

I'm bringing Jumbo Joe for burgers and dogs. Will have some brisket sliders prepared earlier on the WSM. No time for real BBQ before the game so leaving the WSM at home.

See you there!

We're packed, stacked and all that! (Storage Wars shout-out). Heading out to the Oakland A's tailgate soon. Looking forward to meeting Weber and TVWBB fans!

Sending regrets. Older son is pitching in a summer collegiate league game today. I miss occasional games, but I always try to be there when he pitches. I hope to meet up with my fellow Weber fans soon. Please bring home a W and series win!

please do not leave your Jumbo Joe outside your vehicle while inside the stadium...
clean out your hot coals in plenty of time for your WEBER to cool and lock it inside your vehicle before going in for the game.

I had my cleaned and cooled WEBER stolen during a Brewers/White Sox game back during the County Stadium days.

Enjoy the game!

Just seated in the park. Great to eat and visit with Chris and wife and all the other TVWBB members and guests.
Pics later. GO As.
Mark

Here's a few pics of the group and the game.

We had to leave end of 6th. A's 10 Cleveland 2.
Final score??????

Sound advice - better safe than sorry - but in 30 years of tailgating at the Oakland Coliseum, I've only had to deal with getting ripped off one time. I leave my grill(s) in the bed of the truck without a second thought.

EDIT: Way to bring home the win!

Proof positive that football fans/owners don't know beans about baseball. :p

Looks like a great time!
I dig Chris' old school Coleman stove too.

So tired...so much cleanup left to do...will post a summary and more photos tomorrow. Final score was 10-2 A's win! I ordered an A's win for the TVWBB tailgate, but didn't know we'd get a blowout!

Bob, thanks for the shout-out on the Coleman stove. At least it's propane and not one of those old pump stoves! :D We heated baked beans and chopped brisket for sliders on that sucker and it took that ice-cold brisket from cold to piping-hot in about 8 minutes!

Thank you so much Chris and Julie for hosting the tailgate. We had a great time and enjoyed the good company, the good food and the solid win! It was fun to just sit down and relax for a while and cheer on the best team in baseball!

Mark, thank you for coming down from Santa Rosa with your wife...really enjoyed meeting you!

Donna, so glad you and Harry made it despite your busy lives. Looking forward to the next time...Go A's!

Jim, thank you for the great advice. Don't worry, I didn't leave ANYTHING outside the car. I parked near a hot charcoal disposal drum and disposed of coals there before going into the game. I didn't just fall off the turnip truck, you know! :)

Take TVWBB Out To The Ballgame

So we had a great time when TVWBB tailgated at O.co Coliseum on July 20. The Oakland A's plucked the Baltimore Orioles 10-2 in a lopsided victory. I told people that TVWBB ordered up a victory, but who knew we'd get a blow-out?!?

The day started out overcast and cool, but by game time it was sunny and warm and a beautiful day for baseball.

We had 35 or so people turn-out for the tailgate, a mix of family and friends of TVWBB. Aaron Staines is the guy that came up with the idea of a tailgate, and he was there with his lovely wife Lori Lieneke and a bunch of friends including Jerry and Barry and their wives and Aaron's boss from work and his wife and some other friends. My dad and uncle and sister and brother (a WSM owner) were there along with a few other relatives. Friend and WSM enthusiast Gary Yuen was there with a couple of his friends. TVWB fan Tina Nomura and her husband Steve and her sister and brother-in-law and their two kids were there. Donna Fong and Harry Soo joined in the fun. Mark Evenson and his wife Cheryl came down from Santa Rosa to join us. We even had a couple of guys wander over from another area that saw our flag and wanted to know what was going on...we looked like we were having too much fun!

Everyone in attendance got a TVWBB Tailgating 2014 pin and plenty to eat, including bags of peanuts and boxes of Cracker Jack to take into the game. The big hits were the chopped brisket sliders on King's Hawaiian Rolls that I prepared prior to the game and reheated on the Coleman camp stove; the potato salad brought by either Barry or Jerry; the Taylor's sausage with grilled pickles from Aaron and Lori; and the hot dogs and burgers I grilled up on the Weber Jumbo Joe.

Great fun, great friends, great food, and great game. Couldn't have asked for a better time!

Hope you enjoy these photos!

Staked out a spot at the outer edge of Lot B, strategically located next to a hot charcoal dumping station.

All set up and ready to tailgate. Where is everyone?!?

Whew! People starting to show up. People are hungry! The brisket sliders went fast, time to grill some hot dogs. Sweet new setup of Weber Jumbo Joe with Weber Charcoal Table. Grill locks onto the table for stability...awesome.

Here are some of the Allingham men...nephew Gavin sitting down, my Dad, my brother and WSM owner Jeff, and me.

Collage photos taken by my sister Amy...banner, flag, pin, stove and grill. Harry made fun of my All-Clad pots at a tailgate. Hey, buy the best and only cry once, right?
