Waayyy overdue on cooking one of grillings most perfect meat to do on the grill, the Tri Tip.

A couple hours before is was to be kissed with charcoal, trimmed it and seasoned it with Lawry's Seasoning salt, granulated garlic, onion powder and black pepper. Also did some pinquito beans with some cooked bacon, sauteed onion, Cajun seasonng, squirt of ketchup and taco seasoning mixed in. Cooked to an internal of 133. I prefer to pull it at 125 internal so overcooked it a little.

Picked up a loaf of Italian bread took some unsalted butter and added mixed in some Lawrys Seasoning, garlic, granulated garlic, Cajun seasoning and toasted it on the grill

and added some shredded Colby cheese

TT rested and sliced

My plate.

John that looks fantastic. You're right about tri tip. And I don't cook it enough either. Great looking meal.

Perfect looking Cali cook John!
I still have some pinquito beans in the cupboard, need to make some with my next tri tip.

I hear ya. I am long overdue as well. We made French Dips out of our last chunk of leftover last weekend. COSTCO (the only place that has them around here) has been out of Tri Tip forever.

Yours is the classic cook. Outstanding as always.

Albertsons has untrimmed tri tip on sale right now for $3.99/lb. The Pinquito beans were canned and I found those at Vons by me house. Not sure if all Vons have them.

That tri-tip looks incredible. Love all the consistent thin slices lined up...little juice covering the cutting board. Beautiful image.
