Tri Tip

Broke out my Santa Maria which I haven't cooked on in ages, no excuse other than I was too lazy to move it.

Seasoned a Tri tip with Lawry's. black pepper and granulated garlic. Wrapped some red potatoes in aluminum foil and also place some corn in their husks next to the fire.

About 45 minutes the tri tip was at 135, a little higher than I like but still OK.

Tri tip rested and sliced.

While the TT was resting I toasted a bread bowl I bought on the SM grill.

Plated, filled the bread bowl with some left over Broccoli Cheddar soup from the other day.

The TT looks great John! Still lots of pink at 135. I really like your SMG; our local Costco has them now - the really basic model at $290. Haven't bought one yet, but as you know they are great at cooking. The bread bowl looks delicious too. Enjoy!

I so wanted to use my SMG for my tri tip cook yesterday, but got lazy, now I regret it!
Beautiful tri tip, and bread bowl soup John!

John, that looks like the perfect dinner! Those Santa Maria's look like a blast to cook with. The corn looks really good too - especially for how early in the season it is. I guess that's just another benefit of living in SoCal.
