Tri-Tip and beans.

Was thinking on what to cook this weekend when I realized I haven't cooked tri-tip in a long time, like years. While I was at the store I also picked up some Stubbs beef marinade to try. I let the roast sit for 3 hours in the Stubbs.

I fired up the OTG with some Cowboy lump I'm slowly using up. Meat went on indirect with some hickory chunks.

Once the meat hit 125 I moved it over direct heat

Meat came off to rest when it hit 140. Also cooked some grean beens with S&P and evoo.

I served up the tri-tip with the green beans and Tony R's refried beans. I like the Stubbs marinade it imparts a nice flavor with a bit of heat.

Nice Tri Tip cook. I am doing it for the Grillfest and have been tryin to figure out what marinade to use. Stubb's is a good choice!

The TT is off the hook! You can't go wrong with Tony's refried beens and you're green beans are money! Very nice cook!

Plated pic looks perfect!!

Years since you cooked a tri tip, whats up with that, that is way too long between tt cooks!:p

Jason,

Great looking meal dude! I love the green beans idea. Did you marinate them in anything before grilling?

Regards,

John
