Yes, I burn Oak Logs. When I do wings, I usually do a dozen minimum, in this cook I did two dozen. Is it worth the trouble? Not for every cook, but for the occasional cook, absolutely. The fire roasted wings have a great flavor. Note: Burning logs in your WSM, damages your WSM. This particular WSM has been put through the ringer more than onceChuck -- are you burning logs in the bottom for that cook?
Only problem with that set up. Don't you need to cook like three more loads of wings to make it worth the trouble?
