a few weeks ago i was shocked a local butcher had tri tip, as this is the first time ever for them.
so i bought one, grilled it up and thought about it ever since.
Last Friday after work, i returned to get more.
They actually sold me the whole Cryo-vac bag at a reduced price (2 bucks less per pound)
This bag had 5 tri tips inside. Nearly 18 lbs. The smallest weighed in at 3.3lb, the largest at 3.98lb.

i vacuum sealed four on them then seasoned one for Friday night's dinner.

Friday night's dinner consisted of Spaghetti Squash (my favourite)
with iron skillet baked Yukons topped with sautéed garden leeks and Poblano peppers.

I have never seen a tri-tip for sale. I may need to order one.

Bill, i've had tri tip before, many times, it's just more available in these parts now.

doubt they were prime since there was no markings on the package stating so...
 
Great looking dinner Jim. TT is one of our favorites and this past year they have been easier to get here, before once in a blue moon you would see one at Costco but nowhere else. Always have two or three in the freezer now.
 
What a score! Man can't have too many tri-tips in the freezer. Dinner looks great.

Choice TTs at Costco for $5.49/lb. last Thurs. The pricing is dropping! Select TTs (trimmed, even) $2.99/ lb on sale at local Mexican grocery chain.
 
That plated picture looks amazing. I love Spaghetti Squash too. It's a tough nut to crack though
 
The pics are working fine for me (and those of you that con't see them are really missing out). Awesome looking meal Jim as usual. We cooked a tri-tip a while back and really loved it. They are hard to come by here so I'll have to come to your house to get any...
