Samuel, I don't know if you mentioned the before or not, but why do you not have the platinum shelves on the SS Platinum grill?

Because I plan on redoing the bottom of the Platinum grill with Durawood, and I thought that would match better with the gray shelves. Eventually I would like to have platinum shelves on both though. I also plan on using a wire rack bottom on the Silver C. These are the two bottoms I have the the inside contents of. I just have not come up with the money to buy the front and back rails I need for the 2 grills. I am sure these 2 bottoms look familiar to you all.

LOL. Just a matter of preference. I think I like it best that way, but not opposed to either way.

I am going to open the cart on this Genesis Silver and use it on it. And only have the wire rack on the bottom.

Good call --- I've NEVER been a fan of cabinets on these grills. They've only been the weak point for them ever since weber changed over to them - at least someone at weber was smart enough to bring the open cart design back.

I agree Jim, however they went with cheap folded sheet metal for the slats and unless it is very well maintained or stored in a garage, the bottom racks turn to red dust in just 5 or 6 years.

Wild, I literally picked up this exact same grill (LP Version) today too!

The guy must have sanded the fold tables because they feel very rough and prickly.
Should I sand them even further with a finer grit? Or just spray them with something like shellac?

John, likely the reason they feel rough is UV exposure. Sanding them will smooth them right out and take out most any stains. Start with 60 grit and move up.

I thought the lid handles were interchangeable. I tried it and they were not. The metal handle is shorter then the black one.
