Several years ago we had a huge Monarch migration. For a few weeks we would see hundreds a day. Then suddenly they were gone. All the cars and trucks had large splatters for a while.

Great pictures as always Bob. We've dropped 40 degrees in 10 days from the mid 90s to the 50s and no change in site, Fall is here and I'm a happy camper.

That's what our wed and thur this week will be (26C-79F and 27C-80F) then down to 8C-46F for the week end. Hate that swing :(

It's a beautiful day for some BBQ. Minus the 20 mph sustained winds. I was going to get the kettle going and enjoy a few cold ones on the patio. But the wind changed those plans for me.

It really is amazing how a small and beautiful thing like a monarch butterfly can make such a huge mess on a windshield!

Y'all get wet lately?

Very wet Rusty. We got the dying remains of hurricane Rosa the past few days. About three inches worth but just a gentle rain for hours at a time during the day and rained all night. No damage anywhere, but Flagstaff got snow which is unusual for this time of the year.

My daughter, who lives near CO Springs, had a skiff of snow last night.
We're near 90 today, 85 tomorrow, then fall arrives, finally, on Wednesday, high of 59 by Sunday.

I saw the flooding on TV.

Do they have ways of corralling all of that runoff for storage? Seems a shame to let it drain away unless it goes to a reservoir.

Looks like the east coast of the Carolina's will get hit again this week.

Phoenix is another story being in the middle of a desert if they get rain they get flooded. The city wasn't designed to handle rain and it has been a problem for years. As far as I know they don't have a water holding facilities, it just runs off into the desert.

When I lived in Norfolk, VA before I moved down here to NC, if it rained more than 2-3", it'd flood bad!
I wish I still had the pic from the newspaper, but my buddy's car got drowned trying to cross a flooded street. The photographer got a picture of a very young me sitting out the window of his car, motioning to the van behind us to push us out! The water was about 8-10", so we really didn't want to get out and push!

Two elderly couples were chatting.
One of the men says: "We went to a great restaurant last night".
"What's it called?" asked his pal.

He racks his brain, then he says: "What's that red flower you give to someone you love?"
"A rose," his friend says.

"Rose," calls the man, "what's the name of that restaurant we went to last night?"
