Pork Roast

Decided to cook a pork butt just a little different this time. Seasoned simply with SPOG

Smoked it for cpl hours to get a bit of color and flavor

then placed it in a Dutch Oven

and braised it a cpl hours

added some potatos, carrots, mushrooms, onion, garlic, and thyme tossed in olive oil and SPOG

for about an hour

used a cup of jus to make a pan sauce and plated simply

Looks tasty. I prefer pork to beer in almost any dish.
 
Man, that looks like a perfect winter roast/stew, Dwain! I've done some butt roasts in different ways a few times, more roasted than "bbq'd", and I've always loved it. This is a great way to get a smoky, moist, tasty pork dish out of the butt. I'll be doing this at least once during the winter (or, during what passes for winter here!) :)

What did you use for your braise liquid? (EDIT: Ha, @JimK, and I were typing at the same time!) :)
 
I was just given a Camp Chef DO, it’s some kind of Lewis and Clark commemorative. It’s pretty rough but I’ll clean it up. Now I know what to cook in it!
