Pizza and Twists

This was one of those up and down posts. I think the downs outweighed the ups and I considered not posting it. The downs were mainly attributed to burning the first pizza. Not the bottom but the outer edges of the pizza. Got carried away in the kitchen building pizza numbers two and three and should have been out watching the one in the kettle. Oh well. Then, if that wasn't enough, I forgot to put the Mozzarella Cheese on with the pizza sauce on my wife's pizza. Had to put it on last, covering up all the toppings. Didn't really matter eating it, but it makes for a lousy picture. Otherwise, everything went smoothly. Pizza number 3 is a Weber Recipe. Brie, Caramelized Onions and Capers, topped with Baby Arugula. Did some Cinnamon Twists for dessert. Here goes.

Cinnamon Twists first.

Cinnamon and Sugar on the dough.

On the 26er for 12 minutes.

Icing is cream and powdered sugar.

Used the coals left over from the twists to brown some onions for the Arugula Pizza.

The doomed pizza, mine of course, Mushroom, Salami and Olive.

My Wife's, with the Mozz on top. Mushroom, artichoke hearts, onion, red bell pepper and olives. Topped with Goat Cheese after it cooked.

Quick peek, crappy picture.

My wife's pizza came out really well.

Pizza 3 came out really well also. Would do it again.

My ravaged plate. As the bottom of the crust was fine, I trimmed off the edges and was able to salvage a couple of pieces and paired it up with the Arugula Pizza.

Well, that's it. Thanks for looking.

Good pizzas bummer about the doomed one, busy goes south fast with pizzas. Bathe twists look great needs some ice cream. Nicely done

Cliff, I think it all looks great. Temp control on the charcoal fired pizza setups has got to be a bit twitchy (I don't have one now....my only experience was with cooking in my old ceramic that was more oven-like), and I'd say even the one that you charred a bit looks good. The cinnamon twists would last about five minutes in this household! Nice job all the way around!

Hey Cliff, think of the mozz on top like a reverse sear....all good. :D

Top looking grub. That cinnamon twist.....yum!!!!

Stuff happens, The pizzas look fine to me. The one you made for your wife looks really good. Cinnamon twist look perfect I'm not much of a sweet eater but I'd destroy a couple of those for sure.
Barb and I will be using our three month old new Kettle Pizza for the first time this coming week if the monsoons don't fire back up.
Bet I can show everybody how to burn a pizza real good.

I think I could give you a good run for your money on that one Rich. I need to find an "idiots guide to making pizza dough". The CEO isn't too shabby, but I stink!
