I'm happy, wife, not so much! :)

I wasn't looking for it, but when a neighbor posted a Weber grill on NextDoor for $25, I had to take a look.

I am now the proud owner of an EE (1999) Redhead Mastertouch! ....and, yes, for $25!! If I'm not mistaken, 1999 is the last year that Weber produced the Gen 1 Mastertouch, and this specimen is in fantastic shape! There's a dime sized chip in one spot on the bottom bowl, but, other than that, the porcelain coating is pristine. It could use a bit more spit and polish, but I couldn't wait to show it to you guys and gals!!

I swapped on a couple of the new handles that I had previously purchased for my KP rig, even though the old handles were in decent shape (I'll sand those down and oil them to make them pop again.)

The cooking grate needs to be replaced, but the sweep fins and mechanism are more than serviceable. I may swap the taller legs from my KP rig, as this one has stubbies (thought it was an 18" at first since it was so short!) Doing a happy dance here! :)

Nice find Rich, she's a beauty. I have told myself I am done buying Weber's.............................Unless I find something like that one.

Nice score! If I brought that home I'd have to live in it!

The jury is still out here, Case.....at least I can crawl in the 26" if I need to! :)

Yep, that's what I said, too, Pat.....until this popped up. :)

Great deal! I could never find a deal like that. If there were 10 of them sitting outside my house they'd all be gone before I made it to the door.:)

That's a sweet kettle, congrats !

Back when I was looking to replace my old Falcon Mark V gasser I tried to find a used Weber to fix up. Nothing found for weeks and ended up with a new Genesis eventually. Lately I've had an alert set to find used Webers for sale (hoping for a JJ) and this summer the Weber gassers are popping up weekly, nice older ones too. Just 5 or 6 years too late.... :(

Boy did you luckout! Didn't even have to drive furiously for 2 hours to score.

I'm sure you will enjoy using it.

Great find. It looks like it's in awesome shape. I have a red one from 1996-1997 that I bought new. Mine doesn't look as good as yours. I've kept it covered and taken good care of it. But, I've also used the hell out of it. Now I don't use it any longer. The legs are kinda wobbly. I think it just enjoys watching me cook on my newer models while it reminisces. I can't bear to get rid of it. Oh, the times we had....
