National Hot Dog Day

Was surfing around yesterday morning on the web and saw an article stating the month of July was National Hot Dog Month, and July 23 was National Hot Dog Day. Well heck, I couldn't resist. Decided to do up some foot long chili dogs for dinner. Trouble was, after scouring freezer for about 30 minutes, realized I was out of my homemade chili. Off to the store. Made a fresh batch yesterday afternoon and we had the dogs last night sided with a lettuce wedge that my wife provided. Didn't get too crazy on the chili pic's as I just posted a similar cook a couple of months ago with all the photos and details. Here goes.

Browned 2 1/4 lbs. of 93/7 in water and a 12 ounce beer. Did it outside on my camp stove.

Got it in my small DO and added the garlic and rest of the ingredients.

Cooked for 2 hours, simmering on my Performer.

Just about done.

Dogs on the JJ.

The plate.

Hope you all had a good Hot Dog Day everyone, regardless of what you had for dinner!! Thanks for looking.
