I would like to share something that I think is very important to the people of Prescott and the surrounding communities
On June 30th 2013 19 of the 20 Prescott fire hotshots lost their lives fighting the Yarnell hill fire a few miles from Prescott. It totally devastated the whole area
One lady who lived in Prescott saw a contest from Beneful dog food for a dream dog park in your city. You had to write why your city should get the dream dog park.
Here’s the results after over 1000 entries were submitted.
In a press release Wednesday morning, Beneful announced that Linda Nichols' proposal was a winner, stating, "Nichols dreamt big with a commemorative firefighter-themed entry that featured a variety of creative elements including: a red fire truck playground area for dogs to get exercise; a bright hydrant water feature for dogs to cool off after playing in the hot Arizona sun; and a bronze Dalmatian statue to greet two- and four-legged visitors at the front gate."
Nichols' entry emphasized the trauma that the community went through this past summer, with the loss of 19 of the Granite Mountain Hotshots.
"We've had a rough year," Nichols said. "I think they (Beneful) want to help us heal. I do think our message was strong."
Beneful contributed $500,000 to renovate the city dog park.
Barb and I take the pups over there about 3-4 times a week and they love it.
