More wing fun with the vortex

Starting to get the hang of the vortex. Amazing how crisp the skin gets and how fast they cook. These were done with apple @375 for about 30 min.

Thanks for looking.

I just brought a vortex, but have not yet tried it out. Wings look great. I noticed that you have foil on the grate below the wings to catch the grease. Do you know if that reduces the wing-level grate temps?

Al....the foil doesn't change grate temps in my experience. I always run my thermoworks DOT to monitor grate temps. They stay around 375° for these short cooks.

Those are some great looking wings Ben. I'm a believer in the vortex even if I don't own one. Great job!

Excellent looking wings.

Oh, and that perfect ring of foil is impressive as well. ;)

Love is a burning thing,
And it cooks a fiery ring!
I fell in to a grilling out of fire,
Grease dripped down, down, down
And the wings got better
And it burns, burns, burns
Vortex of fire, Vortex of fire.

With apologies to Mr. Cash but, I think he'd enjoy a few of those wings!
