Bummer! My first start up didn't go well. I had plenty of smoke and fire, too much in fact. lol. I think something went wonky when updating the controller software. 2nd time was a charm. Hang in there, Weber will make it right.

Maybe it’s doing updates?

Would definitely check the update menus if you can navigate the controller. Then unplug for for 15 minutes and plug back in and see what happens.

This could appear I'm insulting you but I'm not, so forgive me. This is the rocker switch that you turned on, correct?

(the design would determine whether or not LEDs illuminate on the printed circuit board assemblies even if that switch is off)

yup
got it going loose power on the switch
while waiting for call back midas well check stuff out
i started tugging on power connectors they are spade connecters
and one of them slipped off easy

well fook went out this morning to start first burn turned knob to 450
about 10 mins later started to smoke closed lid about 5 mins after that contoller blanked out again and shut down

something is flakey in da smokefire

This is why I adhere to the KISS method in my life, a WSM is either on or off, a kettle on or off, gasser on or off.
Nope, I just don’t need that stuff to make my easier life more complicated. It’s always a “little thing” that goes sideways but, I’m one more ”little thing” away from going nuts. Sorry, that became more rant than necessary but, you all catch my drift.
