There is no known cure. Once a Weberholic, always a Weberholic. I know several have used the twelve step process with some success, but it never goes away completely.
Well, I guess that means you at least admit you have a problem.
It's nice to have a parts stash, now start turning out some finished grills.,Nothing to see here ....

....and that's how it starts. Good luck, brother.Currently have 9 Weber's as of yesterday. My wife asked today "Are we gonna sell these or...?" I was working on my 2000 and said well definitely not this one. I think she's on to me

I understand, a lot of guys do the same exact thing when they start out. The good thing about it is having a bunch of parts to pick from to make the nicest grill(s) for yourself. Lids and control panels especially, then things like z bars and frame parts. Eventually you will be left with a bunch of substandard parts, maybe enough to put together crappy grills that you can sell for $40. The circle of grill life! Its so easy when you can get them for like 40 bucks or less...
Well I sold and donated about a dozen this year so far but now that I'm getting these older ones I don't want to get rid of them.....and that's how it starts. Good luck, brother.
I get it. The ones with the slats are pretty much the only ones I mess around with. There is something about them that is very desirable. They look great and they cook great. I've been using one since 1998 and don't ever want anything else.Well I sold and donated about a dozen this year so far but now that I'm getting these older ones I don't want to get rid of them.
That's awesome! I'm excited to finish my first one tomorrow. Except when I get back from vacation I'm going to switch up the wood on it.I get it. Very nicely done!!If you make them like new they will sell, they are retro at this point. I had no problem selling this one:View attachment 93769
If I factor my time into it, I probably didn't make a dime, but there are ways to minimize that. For example, you could take all the hardware from several grills and refinish it all at the same time instead of doing it one grill at a time.Very nicely done!!
Thanks, it did look great. That's why it was so easy to sell. You can do the same thing if you want to. Just take a look at the work @Bruce turns out. He's making money on his grills and he lives in rural Wisconsin.Very nicely done!!
Looks Great!!
