I will just leave this here

I have tinkered with the settings, but I dont mind seeing the ones that are too far from me, especially the Chicago area. See a lot of them down there! I sometimes get jealous, but will usually post them here since there are a few of you Illinois guys around.

Here is another summit near me

My favorite, Josh! He is entertaining offers...maybe go for it and see if you don't fall in love, too!
If that one was in Washington instead of Arizona I would definitely consider it. I'm trying to not have projects in Arizona.

I will be interested in Larry's observations, but those high, dancing yellow flames didn't look like the nice blue flames I hope to see.
Do you think it has NG valves running on propane? I haven't tested it so I'm not sure what would happen but maybe bigger yellow flame with the bigger valve openings.

@Josh Dekubber I can make any of my properly setup LP grills get yellow flames by simply blocking a little airflow in from the screens. Try it sometime. Just put your thumb over the screen and restrict the airflow.
I have adjusted the screens on my burners for optimal flame. Do you think these burners are just out of adjustment? I never paid very much attention to the flame until I started servicing valves and swapping NG and LP

That one is a beauty 😍, even though I like the porcelain hoods better. $500 is a little steep unless you could be sure there was no rust-through on the firebox. That I really doubt. The stainless reinforcements I was able to have made will work on the 6-burner grills as well. I had each piece made to do just two burners.

I try not to think about these "bigger brothers" to my 4-burner version! Not a grill I could hide very well😁!

I think it could be a botched conversion, or something is otherwise out of whack. At least to my eyes... I just thought it was kind of funny that the seller thought they were posting something impressive.

I could not see the video on my phone. Looking at it from my computer it could be a botched NG to LP conversion or it may be very dirty burners and screens

My E330 has blue/yellow flames right now because they are dirty. Not as bad as the video, but not great either. I've been the gasser a fair amount during the winter and I have not taken the time to clean the burners for a while. It can also be spider webs restricting the burner screen.

It is windy and raining today but I was planning to cook on the E330 tonight. I'll take a pic to show it does not take much restriction of the screen to turn the flames yellow.

Well those 1st gen Summits look pretty nice especially the black one. But, in both cases you could be into a rusted through fire box. That 3rd gen one, looks like someone threw an LP tank on a NG grill. Heck, you can even hear the gas "rushing" in the video. Looks like someone has been running it like that for a long time. See all the carbon soot inside? That is what happens when LP runs "dirty"

Thanks for weighing in, Larry. I knew you would give us the right diagnosis. I didn’t even notice the soot issue. That seems to settle it.

The first gen Summits are potentially fixable with the stainless reinforcements. I would love to see them saved. Putting aside the Vieluxe (which doesn’t even have a Weber badge), I think the first Summit represents the zenith of Weber’s grill making. Back when Weber was willing to go all out, such as the 20+ pounds of real 304 stainless shelves and cabinetry.

Good catch! I didn’t watch it with volume, but there’s definitely a lot of gas flowing. Wonder how much quicker that kills a tank?
