I will just leave this here

I know if the firebox issues. But that’s about it. I had always wondered how that frame was constructed, so it was kind of cool that they posted the serial number, so I looked it up on the Weber site to see the schematic to quench my mind.
I wonder how accurate the deciphering of the pre-2000 SN’s are because it comes back as a black lid.

And who knows what previous owners did to the grills. They used to swap out parts at the retail stores to sell grills. Like adding a side burner or maybe changing lids between two grills, etc...

That's pretty normal. I think Weber just simplified the info that comes up. For example, it doesn't really matter what color the lid is since the rest of the grill is the same.

Fair. I never thought about retailers swapping them. My reasoning for wondering is that they have 425 black written on the manual, and that the green and grey ones I have picked up decoded correctly. None of my redheads were new enough to get a schematic on though.

Yah, maybe put down a deposit or pay in full with a banking app, but I probably wouldn't jump in my truck at midnite to grab a gill.

He won't get hardly anything for that grill.

I am guessing that had a tree fall it or something like that. I know Larry had an older Genesis take a hit like that.

Here is one I picked up quite a few years ago.20171013_094526.jpg
