I will just leave this here

"There is some rusting there but still very solid."

Hmmm, is it missing the cabinet panels or did Weber make an open cart grill with just the base panel?

My guess, looking at the rest of the grill is that they got rusty enough to remove them...however, usually the bottom panel is the first to go.

Whoooooah!!! I just looked at the add and saw the asking price. Someone out there in Massachusetts needs to back off on the cannabis a little bit.

Norwegian, but it's a platinum c that he claims is only used once. Price is $1260 including gas and transport.

I'm not buying it, but it does look pristine.

Jon,

That one is certainly beautiful! interesting that the European model apparently used black trim instead of light gray. Looks nice and shows options for "modding" one here in the US. They are really nice grills, but that sounds like a lot of $ to me.

Its too expensive by far - its almost as much as a brand new sp-335. But great grill, would be hard to pass up for about half what they are asking.

Yes, that is true. Actually, I would rather have a "brand new condition" classic Genesis stainless Platinum then a new SP-335, but it really is a much too high price for a 15 year old grill.

I think I posted about one of those a while back. Not as big as that one. I was a little tempted just to get the stainless. The original company went bankrupt, and this is definitely an orphan grill even though it had some good things about it including quality stainless. There are still parts available. You can read about the company that made it - StraubelStone - in this article:

Looks like really good condition, but $200 is too much for it. That should be Stephan's Territory.

I never thought I would see one in Norway...picking it up for free on monday;):

Very happy now, I have a Blue lid Genesis 4000 with several things wrong with it still, but all the parts are either good or new, and the firebox is already sandblasted. Think I'm going to stick the blue lid on this 5000, remove the flamecheck system and make a 5000 Platinum blue lid. Also with the extra side burner and flip table my redhead 2000 will become a 4000:cool:

I also picked up a free Q3200 today, those flip for $200 easy. Great day!
