'Tis the season.... my local Sprouts has them: Mild / Hot / X-Hot. Bought a pound of medium, 1/2 pound of hot & 1/2 pound of x-hot. Roasted, peeled & chopped them:

12 minutes gets this:

Browned & salted 1 1/2 pounds of cubed CSRs.

Chopped these home grown & smoked chipotles.

The lineup of other ingredients (spices were 5 or six blasts of w sauce, a tablespoon of sugar, a tablespoon of oregano & the chopped chipotles):

Everything in the pot, brought to a boil & then a simmer for 1/2 hour or so:

I'll take a plate of that anytime with an ice a cold beer or two.
On the heat meter how hot was it?, what tumbler basket is that as I'm looking for one.

I would not know how to rate it on a heat meter. It's all subjective & I've never sampled a ghost pepper.
I think it was sub-nuclear.... full face & scalp sweats... mild eye tearing. Went on for a while. Could still taste the pork.
I'm glad I didn't go 100% X-Hot. Had some more for lunch today.... a bowl w/ guac, cheese & sour cream. Mas fino!

The roaster is home made. Looks like Clint provided a link regarding it.

Will be roasting another 2 pounds of the "mix" tomorrow for "stock". Will vac seal & freeze it.

Oh... & I'm going to get some more before the end of the season. Cook a few & "stock" a few.
