Got my wish on Father's Day

My 24 year-old son asked what I wanted for Father's Day and I said I wanted him to help me cook steaks and eat with us. We almost never see him and he rarely eats with us, but this time he said yes.

We cooked Ribeyes and yukes, sat on the porch (the deck wasn't an option with the rain), and had a couple of beers and talked about stuff. I can't remember the last time we did that without a major fight. Truly a great Father's Day.

Here are a couple of pictures. I've posted nearly identical cooks so skip them if you're tired of them.

Raining so I put up the umbrella.

Ribeyes & yukes on grill just like I've posted before, but this time, my son is doing it!

Skipped a lot of the boring stuff. Here is my plate.

Thanks for looking.

Beautiful Lew!
my pa and I spit fire on occasion ... Still loved him and he knew it...
he passed in 99 taught me how to grill without wrecking the food (meat)...
Harry Chapin's tune when heard reminds me of dad...
but we got along real good his last 10 12 years...
anyway, (typing these words teared me up abit) YOU COOKED GREAT!
Happy belated Fathers Day!

Great cook, glad you had a good day with your son, keep these days coming. My dad and I "lost it" for 25+ years. If anything came of that, it ain't gonna happen between my son & I

Good for both of you! Been down that road with my Dad gone now 30 years and my son also. Don't see my kids near enough but when I do it's a wonderful thing.

Hey Lew, very touching post. I know the steaks and Yukes had to have been delicious, but not nearly as rewarding as your family time. Great job.
