Aldi had skirt steak for $4.99/lb a while back, so I grabbed a bunch of them for freezing and later use. Pulled a 0.85 lb. one out to make some fajitas.
I cut it into two pieces, salted liberally and set on a rack to come to room temp while I fired up some lump. When it was ready, I slapped them on the bare coals:

Alton Brown recommends (I think) 1 minute per side, but I've found that I prefer the doneness with 1.5 minutes per. And in this case, there was a good amount of fat on the one side (that I should have trimmed off), so I gave that side an extra minute. Here's the steak at the end of the cook:

Wrapped that up tight in some foil for a rest and put the CI skillet onto the coals for the peppers & onions:

Almost forgot the lovely beverage for the cook. I still don't know how to pronounce the brand, but I really like this lager:

Time to eat:

That would normally be enough for two people, but due to transit issues, I walked an extra two miles on my way home from work and was extra hungry. I devoured the whole platter (save some of the peppers & onions) with sour cream, some acceptable but not-nearly-as-good-as-homemade guacamole and white corn tortillas, as shown:
