Emptying the Freezer

Between our schedules, leftover BBQ in the freezer has been a great thing on busy evenings where we don't have much time to cook. Pair that with our mini slow cooker for warming the leftovers, and it is a game changer. I mentioned to my wife that these roasts that we have in our freezer would be better if they were prepared dishes. So, I thawed a chuck roast and did a modified PSB and thawed and smoked a picnic shoulder.

It was cold and windy and I had a hell of a time keeping the temp up until I added a few more lit coals. Did not get the bark I wanted on the pork, but it tasted great! Way better than fast food would for dinner during the week....

Here is how it went:

Thanks for looking!

Looks good. I was in the process of emptying my freezers, but then went to Sam's last week, and lo and behold, I am once again with an overloaded freezer........what to do, what to do? Well, copying your cook may be a good start, again........................d

I like the meal planning, Jeff! Unfortunately, I won't be dropping by work... could you mail me some? :)

Jeff,
The wife and I have been in the in the moving mode for the last month, packing up to move to our new home (gotta get rid of some of this stuff.)
I did the same thing cooked up a bunch of pulled pork, BBQ beef, ribs, meatloaf, etc before we started and froze it. At the end of the day when cooking is the last thing on your mind it sure is nice to quickly heat something good instead of junk food.
