The wife and I attended today’s BBQ competition held in Belen, Costa Rica!

Competition Samples were not given but many tasty morsels were For-sale at the many food stalls and trucks.

As I recall he was grilling-up some beef and also pork steaks. Yeh, Weber Smokers and Grills all over the place with a few Costa Rican Weber Dealers selling their wares.

Yep; Costa Rican Pork-Type.

Yeh, those competitors were on the pork ribs when I took those photos and their next competition was the “pollo”. Do you know who took 1st place on the rib cook? Below I posted the rest of my photo shoot of the Costa Rican BBQ Fest

Congratulations to GRILLDROIDS who placed 1st in ribs!
Gettin' Basted travelled all the way from Missouri and placed 2nd in ribs, 1st in pollo, 1st in pork, 1st in brisket, and was the Grand Champion.
I competed against Brad in the Saluting with Smoke Rib Cook Off last year in Yorkville, IL and ended up with a 2nd place finish.

James: Thanx for the invite but Jaco is bit away where I live in Santa Ana. Last Years BBQ Fest was held in Belen which is a short distance from where I live. Also, I have no car and rely on the excellent Costa Rica Public Bus System. Good Luck on your competition and have a great time in this wonderful Country.
