Thanks for all your kind words about Raddy. Today (Monday) she is doing much better, we've kept her quiet and no walks. She's getting up with out any assistance and going out in the back yard to watch for lizards and her ferocious appetite has returned. At 13 she isn't going to be running any marathons but she appears to be about 99% of what she was before the problem started.
Whitney our rescue dog has been by her side all the time and Raddy started to play with her a little so I'm sure she's feeling much better.
Thanks to all of you for taking the time to reply.

Had some country style ribs occupying valuable space in the freezer along with a whole chicken decided to do both.

With the ribs I wanted to try something different from what I usually do. I coated them with Dizzy Pig Raging River Rub and smoked them with almond and cherry on the mini for about two hours at 220.
I then made a mixture of apple juice, Weber’s Buzz’ n Honey BBQ sauce and a tbs. of Weber’s Smokey Mesquite rub and ½ chopped onion. Into a covered pan and simmered on the E320 gasser for two hours.
Served with grilled corn on the bone and a small salad.
The ribs were great!
The chicken was done plain on the Weber Gasser Kettle for future meals.

Sorry no plated pictures and here’s why.
Barb brought our 13 year old Golden Retriever Raddy home from the groomers at 2pm and she couldn’t walk, her hind legs were collapsing on her. Once she laid down she couldn’t get up on her own.
At 4:30 we were able to get her up to eat and go outside for a potty stop. She came in and laid down and didn’t move until 6am this morning when I helped her get up.

The good news is she was able to get up on her own for her breakfast and walked to the back door to go out. It’s now 9:30 and she seems to be doing much better still struggles a little bit to get up but is mobile enough to go where she wants. Hopefully it was the fact we took a long walk yesterday and also she probably was on her feet for hours at the groomers, too much strain for the old pup.
It was a scary sleepless night for both Barb and I.

Well, first things first. Sure hope your dog is OK and it was just fatigue. Been through that sort of trepidation many times with our animals over the years. Sure hoping for the best Rich and Barb. Looks and sounds like a great CSR and chicken cook.

I always read that if you boiled ribs, the terrorists win. Maybe you put that myth to rest. The food looks great.
Sorry about the dog. Probably has dysplasia. It's pretty common in Labs and German shepards when they get older. Give her my best.

Great looking food, Rich. More importantly, I hope your dog gets well soon. Seeing dogs in pain is pretty much the saddest thing ever :(.

Prayers for your Raddy. I'm going thru that with Babygirl. She's going on 15. I forgot about your cook once I read about Raddy. Dogs come first. Ribs later but they looked good

Dam they did it all wrong, dogs should live 30 years +, not 10-15, as they give you unconditional love their whole life.
I hope the long walk and the groomers was what tired out Raddy.

Fine looking cook Rich!

Jo and I are sending our best wishes for a speedy recovery for Raddy.
Not long ago our two grandpups were here, they pestered Brooke (it was play to them) so much she could hardly stand up that evening, she will be 8 next month.
God bless our pets, they are family too.

Rich glad to hear Raddy is doing a little better today. Six weeks ago our 8 yr old beagle was having a hard time getting off of his back legs similar to what you described about Raddy. We took him to the vet and the vet said it was possibly an inflamed disk, hard to be exact without x rays though. We limited his activity till we saw him get some strength back and now he's back to 100%.

Man, I hate hearing stuff like this. Maybe some Glucosamine and Condroitin? That stuff is magic.

My Bailey, a little runt Shih Tzu, will be 10 in Sep. I am so thankful and knocking on wood she is still healthy.

Rich I'm glad to hear your dog is doing better. I can imagine the long night you had.

The meal looks delicious. I like the the way you cooked the CSR's. The chicken looks like you nailed it too.
